Blessings!
So. This is how the Beowulf starts which is what we are finishing in British Literature class. So the 4 weeks since school has started have been really, well, exiting, but not in the good manner of the word, more of the we had no idea what September had in store for us as good old Multnomah this year. We started the school year with the loss of a beloved Professor through some tragic means, he didn't die, but he is no longer teaching here. The second weekend was our all school retreat and the whole school was looking forward to going away for the weekend and having fun and worshiping our Savior together. While at the retreat our school nurse, who we affectionately refer to as Nurse Ellen, got sick and Saturday passed out and the doctor who was also there had her life flighted out of the camp to a town nearby. She was in a coma and had some major hemorraging in her brain and a week and a half later on September 20 in the morning she was offically pronounced dead(if you want more details I can give them to you).
The next week after the retreat was all fun and Wednesday my good friend Ruth-Anne came to visit us and that night because it was Ashley's last day as a teenager we decided to go get some drinks at Applebees, when it was discovered that my car had been stolen. For those of you who don't know it was stolen and we have no idea when it was stolen, but it is really easy to break into and they went joy riding in it and the next Tuesday, I got it back. My friend and I went and picked it up and it was absolutely disgusting to touch the inside of the car because it felt so violating. Anyway, there are some things broken on my poor car, but Maxwell runs. Through all of this though, God has really blessed me because now my Dad is coming out to fix it and it is really exiting to get to see him.
Last weekend Sarah and her family invited me to spend the weekend with them at the beach. This was an absolutely beautiful weekend at the beach, with sun and warm weather. It also gave me a chance to relax a little bit even though I read about 70 chapters in the bible. That also was really exiting because I could track the story so well.
The month of September has been a trying month and I am overwhelmed, but I have also been shown God's grace and his blessing over and over again this month. He showed me his grace by allowing me to get my car back, by giving me amazing friends and family and acquantances who were and are praying for me. He has showed grace to Multnomah through bringing us together in these times of testing when God for some reason has taken a professor away from us for a while and taken a beloved Nurse away from us to be with him. He has drawn the individuals in this school closer to him in our pain and thus we are drawing together as a family of believers. God has blessed Mulnomah, he has shown his grace and he has given me the strength to live each day. Praise be to Yawhew!!
