Bruises!

Today was a good day! Sarah, Kim and I went up to Mt. Hood and went snowboarding. Actually, Kim and I snowboarded and Sarah sat in the lodge and did homework and watched our stuff. I had a lot of fun, but because I am still not very good, I have come back with numerous bruises and am very sore.
While we were on the hill, it started to snow and not just a little whimpy spit, but large full flakes of snow that came down and clogged my goggles. The fun part for me was at one point I was on a run that not too many other people where on and I was waiting for Kim who was stuck further up the slope. As I waited, there was a point when I was almost totally alone surrounded by clouds and snow and a few trees. It was one of the coolest experiences I have ever had. I got to see another aspect of God's beauty. He created nature powerful enough to destroy or grow life, but the same thing is so beautiful by itself. Being completely surrounded by snow and cloud for that short while, was another demonstration to me of how much God loves and cares for me.

Now you know why I love to go to the mountains by myself so much, whether it is hiking, skiing, or hunting there is something deep about being alone in God's creation. These are the times that I have felt the closest to God. I'm glad you experienced it.
