Movies are a Hobby

This summer my roommate and I decided to buy a subscription to Netflix because we have a whole list of movies we wanted to see and the bill for anything else was way high. This is kind of our hobby. Therefore, I am going to blog about the movies that we watch. Most of the movies that we watch a little off the beaten track, but they are really good. I hope you enjoy and find some great movies that you will like. We watched two tonight that are great!!!

Movie One: Gone Baby Gone
Directed by Ben Afleck. with Casey Afleck, Morgan Freeman, Michelle Monaghan, Ed Harris. Rated: R for violence, drugs and language.
Gone, Baby, Gone is the story of a Private Investigator who gets hired to find a little girl who was abducted. Her mom was an alcoholic, drug user who often neglected her daughter. The neighborhoold both the family and the PI live in is really hard. The PI investigates the disappearance and eventually comes to the conclusion that because of drugs and money the little girl is dead. However, as the movie progresses he starts learning things about the people who are helping him on the case that are a little unsettling. The end of the movie presents plot twists and a good topic for discussion.
Though a very hard movie to watch and at times very suspenseful, it also presents questions about morals. How far should somebody go to do something they believe will protect another human or save their own life. Ben Afleck did a great job directing it and Casey Afleck was great in the leading role. Watch this movie with a group, its real and open about who people are. Be prepared to discuss it, because it is worth discussing.

Movie Two: Bottle Shock
Directed by: Randall Miller. with Chris Pine, Bill Pullman, Alan Rickman.
Rated: PG-13 for language, wine and a little fighting.
Bottle Shock is the true story of how the California wine became world famous in 1976. It stars Bill Pullman and Chris Pine as a father and a son who are struggling to make their vineyard go. On the otherside of the world Alan Rickman plays a Englishman who is struggling to make his French wine shop a success. He goes to California to find the wines that he can use to make the French wines look better. The movie is a good story of the history of wine in California and the world.
This is a great movie about the history of wine. Capturing the people and thoughts not only of people with hopes and dreams that are falling apart, but also people who have no hopes at the beginning of the movie. It shows you a look into people who grow because they have to and also people who take risks in their life. This movie was fascinating, fun and you get to watch a movie about wine. What could be better really?

I hope you enjoyed the first addition to my summer movies. I hope you also find some amazing movies that you may enjoy as well.
