Sounds of Noise

Last night, I layed in bed and heard the police car with its sirens go by and then it came by again. I thought about what a strange place I live in. I wonder how many times those sirens pass by each day and I don't even here them because I am so used to them.
Then this morning I was walking to breakfast, the crows were kawing and I wasn't paying much attention until another bird sang a song that was beautiful and clear. I couldn't see what bird it was but it gave me hope that spring is just around the corner. The crows then continued but it sounded so ugly compared to the bird singing.
I was thinking about the sounds that are around us everyday that we never hear. I just thought of a MASH when Hawkeye burns his eyes and is blind for a couple of days. For the first time he hears the sounds around him. I wonder how many times we have beautiful sounds around us that we don't even hear because we are so preoccupied with our lives. Take a moment to listen to the world, God created it and he wants us to listen.
