Hotel for Dogs

Directed by Thor Freudenthal. with Emma Roberts, Lisa Kudrow, Don Cheadle.
Rated PG for mild thematic elements.
Hotel for dogs is a movie that takes place in New York City and is about Andi and Bruce who are two kids aged 16 and 11 who are in the foster care system. They are continually getting into trouble in order to earn money to feed themselves and their dog. Their social services worker, Bernie takes care of them and tries to keep them together. They are living in a home with a couple who cares very little for them other than the fact that they get money for food for themselves and their dog, Friday. They end up finding an empty hotel, some more dogs and put together a hotel that can take in dogs that otherwise would end up in the pound, a very horrible place.
This was a cute movie about a couple of kids. It is a fairly typical disney movie in which it gets good, goes really bad and in the end works out better for everyone than anyone could have ever imagined. I found it a cute movie with a bunch of cute dogs, that shows the importance of taking care of animals, as well as the importance that family has in a childs life. I enjoyed it, but other than Lisa Kudrows great potrayal as a wonderfully horrible foster parent. If you have kids I would recommend it other than that the dogs are cute.
